Avery Bonnette is a painter based in Mission Viejo, California. She creates abstract paintings inspired by the natural world, with a current focus on moving water, light, and color. She earned her BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Printmaking from Texas Tech University in 2024. Before returning to Southern California, she worked as Assistant Collections Manager in the Art Division at the Museum at Texas Tech and completed a year-long artist residency at Charles Adams Studio Project in Lubbock, Texas.

Bonnette is interested in the canvas as a record of both place and experience. Rather than capturing a single moment, she explores how the natural world—and her experience of it—changes from moment to moment. Her paintings draw from ripples formed by rain, sunlight sparkling across water, whitewash left by waves, and reflections shifting with a moving current. Through layers of paint, she translates these fleeting changes into abstract compositions.
